As with our experience later in Chicago, the UK MS Society, perhaps the second largest in the world after the U.S. one, was adamant our mission will receive no media attention in London. MS is just not interesting to the media, and with so many political things going on at the time in London, nobody will have time.
But the media was interested, and did find the time. In fact, after the piece aired, Karen Davis was able to continue to raise awareness for MS in the media, including an article in the Surrey Mirror, which became the most read on the newspaper's online site.
The London and Chicago stops illustrate best that if MS is made exciting the media, and the broader public, will listen, and it underscores where MS organizations need our help. Read more on this here and on why we succeeded here
